Yep, it’s in the fielder’s pocket. Came across this gem of a picture whilst catching up on latest Ashes action. Ed Joyce fell victim to this odd dismissal whilst playing for Sussex against Warwickshire yesterday. As Joyce swept the ball away, the fielder took evasive action and the ball ended up in his pocket. Cricketing laws state that a catch is fairly completed if the ball accidently lodges in a player’s clothing. This ranks as the most freakish cricketing dismisal I’ve ever seen.
